About

Purpose

The goal of the Industrial Workers of the World Pamphlet Library (IWWPL) is to facilitate access to the conceptual literature produced by the IWW union and its members for the ultimate purpose of educating and promoting solidarity within the working class at large. As this stated purpose favors the preservation and propagation of an ideology, rather than of physical or historical document formatting, IWWPL materials are presented in a widely compatible text recognized PDF. This formatting decision aims to foster both ease of download and reader interaction with each text by allowing for personalized bookmarking and annotation. However, due to the vast social, historical, and economic importance of IWW publications, each item record in the IWWPL provides a link (under the “Relation” field) to an alternate version of the text containing either scans of the original document or alternate editions of the text which may be of interest to those who wish to visually contextualize a particular document.

Content

All current and future content featured in the IWWPL comes from a list of IWW publications compiled by Juan Conatz and posted on Twin Cities IWW blog, The Organizer (available at http://tcorganizer.com/2014/08/04/exhaustive-list-of-iww-pamphlets/). This list includes bibliographic information for literature published from 1911 through 2013, as well as titles of works with unknown dates of publication.
